Obituary for Robert Yuk Tsun "梁煜俊" Leung

Robert Yuk Tsun Leung, born in Hoi Ping, Canton Province, China, on December 27, 1940, passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 8, 2018.

Robert immigrated to Canada as a teenager and survived taking on menial jobs. When he made his way to the United States, he traveled around the country as a jockey, one of the first Asian horse riders in America. He settled in Long Beach, California, where he retired from the California Horse Racing Board.

The pride and joy of Robert’s life was his two daughters, Dorothy and Wendy. They were lovingly beside him during his final days, along with their mother, Lisa; son-in-law, Robert; grandchildren, Andrew and Elisa; sister Eva; and brothers Howard and Louis. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, friendliness, bright smile, love of Rock n’ Roll music, and appreciation of beautiful landscapes, in particular the endless waters of the ocean.
