Obituary for Sadye Virginia Snead (Williamns)

Sadye Virginia (nee Williams) Snead, widow of the late Dr. Kenneth Snead of Sewickley, PA, passed away at her home on April 16, 2018 at the age of 95.

Sadye was born in West Chester, PA in 1922. She is the third of six children to the late Dr. A.D. & Cleo Williams of Philadelphia. She attended Girls High and went on to graduate from Ohio State University, Magna Cum Laude. After completing college, Sadye returned to Philadelphia and began a teaching career spanning 50 years. During her career, she also returned to college and received her Master’s Degree in Early Education at the University of Michigan.

Sadye was a devoted wife of 67 years and mother of five children, whom she adored. She is survived by Valerie C. Robinson, Chanda Nastasi, Apostle - Rev. Thiess Baugh, Kenneth S.B. Snead and Janvier Y. Snead. She is also survived by sister, Atty. Harriet Williams, brother, Atty. Burton Williams, brother-in-law, Dr. M.P. Snead and sister-in-law, Ethel Snead. More surviving beloved include grandchildren - Anjanette Byrd, Cezanne Rosemond, Janvier Jovan Snead, Janvier Jay Snead, Ian, Janvier Jake Snead, Cleo Snead, Kenneth Snead III, Michael Nastasi, Justin Nastasi, Nicholas Nastasi; great grandchildren - Monique Reed, Keeya Reed, Trevon Reed, Giani Gambone, Dominic Nastasi, Nicholas Nastasi, Carina Nastasi, Jay's Daughter, Ian's Daughter, Cezanne Thoreau Moses Rosemond; great-great grandchildren - Lamont Bonneau, DeLaney Bonneau, Dahlia Bonneau, Tyina Santiago, Miguel Santiago, Catalina Santiago, Jordynn Reed, Dominick Reed and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Sadye will be remembered and missed as a beautiful, faithful Christian who strived to give her best to all whom she encountered. Sadye greeted everyone with a loving smile and kind words; we all know how wonderful she was while she was with us in this world.
Viewing & Services will be held at Philadelphia Burial Company (1327-29 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19147) on Friday, April, 20, 2018. Services begin at 9:30 am.
